1/4 of the way done!

I am now ten weeks and six days pregnant. I have been feeling really good other than bloated like crazy! We went to our first doctors appointment today and they did an ultrasound. COOLEST THING EVER! It was so amazing to see our baby up on the screen moving in my belly. And it's so relieving to know that my baby is growing the way it should and that they are doing good. Hadley said it looked like he/she was so comfortable in my belly haha. I could have watched the baby on that screen for hours! The doctor gave us a copy of the ultrasound. . .
According to babycenter.com our baby is the size of a kumquat (not sure what that even is?), he/she is also growing nails and little peach fuzz hair! It's unreal to me how fast the baby grows! I'm convinced the baby is a boy, because for some reason that's all the Deveraux family can produce, or since the last 76 years! But I will love whatever gender we will have!

9 WEEKS!

So I am 9 weeks (since last Saturday, I think?) I haven't gone to my OBGYN appointment yet so I'm not sure the exact day I turn a new week. So if my calculations are right I'll be 10 weeks Saturday! This week has been pretty good, I haven't thrown up since last week so that's been lovely. Although, I can't get over this freaking sore throat, I'm going on almost my third week of whatever is wrong with my throat. Hadley took me to instacare on Sunday because he was sick of my hacking and sniffling keeping him and I up all night. When the doctor looked in my throat he saw a hole in some of my throat tissue or whatever is back there, he said this hole goes to my EAR!! WTH??? I was convinced when I saw the hole before this appointment that I had strep or the heartburn from my pregnancy was starting to erode through my throat. He ended up taking a strep test (which I almost vomited in his face from shoving the cotton swab down the back of my throat) and the test came out negative. Which was good, but WHAT THE HECK IS MAKING MY THROAT HURT SO BAD? He pretty much just told me that pregnancy makes the symptoms of a sickness stays longer than usual. So he prescribed me some mouth wash, wish is probably like gargling pudding in the back of your throat, which I threw up when I tried it. ANYWAYS.... back to my little nugget in my belly... It is now the size of a large grape! I love reading the weekly posts online of what the baby is doing and how it is growing. They said this week it is looking less like a see creature and more like a tiny baby. We go to the OBGYN next Friday! We will get an ultrasound and hear the babies heartbeat! I am so excited! I think we are going to have a boy, but everyone is saying they think were going to have a girl, but I will be super happy with either! I can't wait to start purchasing fun things for the baby, especially cute little clothes! I've been eying the diaper bag that I'm dying to get, but I can't imagine what Hadley will say when I tell him the bag is $175! Hopefully in six more months it will go on sale, but if not I'm going to have to splurge for this one thing.

PHOTO 101!

Yes, this is my second post in one day! I just have a few more minutes before going into work, so I thought I would post another post. (I think I deserve some kind of metal). Anyways, I am taking a photographing diversity class at SLCC and thought I'd share some pictures I have taken so far. I've learned so much about my camera! I now control it, it doesn't control me! (One of my teacher's favorite sayings).
Ok, so I may control my camera but my blog controls me, I can't figure out how to flip this picture to how it originally is? How frustrating, so if you crank your neck to the right you can probably see this picture better! Leeshy was so nice to let me take pictures of her for my first photo project, she is so pretty and photogenic!!
and she plays the guitar realllllllly good! Love you leesh!

This is cute little Haley Barratt, one of our neighbors. She was not shy when it came to taking pictures! She was so funny and entertaining. She just lost her front teeth and loved showing her toothless smile off! haha. Haley helped me out a lot with my second photo project!

I really enjoy taking pictures! I hope one day I can possibly have a small career out of it. I have a lot to learn still, but it's something I like to do for fun and will have the photos forever!!!

Ice Fishing!

The other day I finally got my butt out of the house to go ice fishing with Hadley. I've been ditching out on him a lot lately because things suddenly come up or I'm having all-day-morning sickness when he wants to take me ice fishing. We went to Deer Creek since it's not too far, and Hadley always has luck there. We got there and the lake was froze so we headed out, walking carefully out on the ice and hearing it crack underneath you gives you quite the rush. Hadley drilled us some holes in the ice and we started fishing. We had no luck for about an hour or so, so we moved to a spot where a river runs into the lake and there we caught a few. Although I'm such a baby when it comes to being cold, I'm glad I went to spend time with Had. It was a lot of fun and nice to get out of the house in this weather!
Yes, We are standing in the middle of the lake!!!

The Rumors Are TRUE!!!...

Hadley and I are expecting! We are so excited to start a family together. Right now I'm eight weeks along. So that puts my due date at September 17th. Our baby is the size of a raspberry! The past five weeks have been really rough as far as the pregnancy goes. At week three the morning sickness hit me like a cement wall. And let me tell you, for those of you who had morning sickness only in the MORNING, consider yourself blessed! In my case it was every minute of the hour sickness. I was constantly shoving saltines down my throat just to keep something in my stomach at all times. This went on for about two weeks, then I was back to normal for a week, thinking I was over that stage.. Think again... it was back in no time. The other day Hadley thought he would make some eggs for breakfast, I told him I should just stick to my usual bowl of rice chex and to just make him some. I was about to leave for school, when the smell of those scrambled eggs nearly shot me out of the ceiling like a cartoon movie. I was going to grab my keys then bolt out of the house as fast as I could. Not so fast, I saw the eggs Hadley had cooked up and that was it... I saw my chex cereal once again, but this time it wasn't so appetizing. So since then the thought of eggs makes me dry heave. And don't even get me started on the smell of chicken! Ok, so I'm making it sound like I've been nothing but miserable. But that's not true, I'm so excited for this experience. I can't wait to hold and kiss the babie's little face.
So now that mine and Had's lives are about to change forever, we are trying to get ready to be parents. Although there isn't much for Had to do right now, he's been really supportive and takes care of me when my head is over the toilet. As for me, I'm stocked up on mommy to be books and registered for almost every pregnancy website there is. My family and friends have all been supportive and have given me lots of advice, which is so helpful. We are so excited to be parents and start this journey together!
